SB 365

The Kansas House of Representatives passed SB 365 on March 31, so now it is up to a conference committee to decide whether the Kansas disability system will receive an unprecedented amount of funding during the next three years to bolster direct support workers' wages. The Kansas Legislature goes on break April 5, and some committees will return to Topeka the week of April 21.

Starkey is a member of the Advocates in Communities Team (ACT) of South Central Kansas, a five-county team of individuals receiving services, families, service providers and CDDOs sharing information about disability service issues with elected officials and interested citizens.

In addition, Starkey is a member of InterHab, a statewide resource network for organizations that support people with developmental disabilities. InterHab is a leader in advocacy for disability issues at the state level.
